Welcome to the Neighbourly Support Foundation. By accessing and using our website, services, and participating in our programs, you agree to the following terms and conditions, along with our Privacy Policy and any other terms and conditions that may appear on our website from time to time. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, please do not use our website or services.
1. Introduction
By donating to the Neighbourly Support Foundation (NSF), you agree to the
following terms and conditions. NSF is committed to ensuring transparency,
compliance with Nigerian laws, and effective use of all donated funds to
achieve its charitable objectives.
2. Use of the Website
- The content on our website is for your general information and use only. It is subject to change without notice.
- You may not use this website for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms. Unauthorized use of this website may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offense.
- The trademarks, logos, and service marks displayed on the website are the property of Neighbourly Support Foundation or other third parties. You are not permitted to use these marks without our prior written consent or the consent of such third party which may own the marks.
3. Donations
All donations are voluntary and non-refundable. NSF accepts donations through direct public contributions and in-kind donations (e.g., stickers, logistics). A maximum of 10% of each donation will be allocated to administrative activities, including office rent, compliance costs, statutory audits, and other operational expenses, to ensure the foundation’s smooth functioning.
4. Use of Funds
NSF will allocate funds based on the program specified by the donor (e.g., Direct Food Distribution, Charity Aid, Women Empowerment, etc.). If the donation is unspecified, or where an urgent need arise, NSF reserves the right to allocate funds where they are most needed within its approved programs.
5. Administrative Allocation
As mentioned, 10% of each donation will be reserved for administrative costs such as office rent, statutory audit, compliance with relevant laws, and general operating expenses. This ensures that NSF can maintain compliance with legal requirements and continue its operations efficiently.
6. Compliance with Laws
NSF adheres to all relevant Nigerian laws, including but not limited to:
- The Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011, which requires that donations exceeding ₦5,000,000 from individuals or ₦10,000,000 from corporate entities be reported to the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU). Donors must disclose full identification details, and NSF reserves the right to request additional documentation for any large donations.
- The Terrorism Prevention Act, 2011, which prohibits NSF from accepting donations from sources linked to terrorism or illicit activities.
7. Donor Privacy
NSF is committed to protecting donor privacy. Personal and financial details collected during the donation process are stored securely and will only be used for internal purposes or in compliance with legal reporting requirements.
8. Acknowledgment of Donations
Donors will receive an acknowledgment of their contributions via email or another communication method. NSF will also maintain a transparent record of all donations received and expenditures made, which will be available upon request or during the organization’s annual statutory audit.
9. Tax Benefits
Donors may be eligible for tax deductions under Nigerian law. Donors are encouraged to consult with their tax advisors for specific information on tax benefits related to charitable donations.
10. Right to Refuse Donations
NSF reserves the right to refuse donations if there is a concern about the legality of the source or if accepting the donation would conflict with NSF’s values or mission.
11. Changes to Terms and Conditions
NSF reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Donors will be notified of any significant changes to these terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
